Again, the bible doesn’t address the pastor’s wife in the modern sense; women’s roles were defined differently then, but there is significant guidance for her journey within scripture. The topics tackled range from child rearing to walking a godly path. Pastor’s wife appreciation verses are as diverse as the women they’re influencing.
Soul Shepherding compiled several examples of pastor’s wife appreciation scripture here. A sampling is below.
“The Lord God said, ‘It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.’” (Genesis 2:18)
“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth.” (Psalm 127:3-4, NIV)
“Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. They will be a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck… Keep your father’s commands and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. Bind then on your heart forever… When you walk, they will guide you; when you sleep they will watch over you.” (Proverbs 1:8-9; 6:20-22)
“A godly wife is priceless. Her husband has every reason to have complete confidence in her as his partner because each day she brings him good and not harm. With her hands she makes beautiful things. She works diligently for the good of her husband and family. In the community she is known for her kindness and wisdom. She handles money well and is very capable in business. She is able to initiate great projects and lead others well. Her arms and her heart are open to the poor and needy and she does not neglect her own family. She is strong, elegant, and happy. In all that she says and does she brings honor to the Lord.” (Paraphrased from Proverbs 31:10-31)
These should all convey appreciation for a pastor’s wife.
